The reform of Voluntary Jurisdiction

May the 11th saw the publication in the Official Gazette of the General Courts of the bill on Voluntary Jurisdiction governing proceedings in matters in which there is no dispute between two or more parties but there is the need for judicial intervention in order to protect certain rights and interests relating to civil and commercial law.

This Bill comes to fulfil the mandate which the Civil Procedure law gave the government in the year 2000 for the development of a law on Voluntary Jurisdiction, and responds to the need to adapt the process of Voluntary Jurisdiction to the current reality.
