Broseta Hires Rafael Fernández for the Public Law Department
Rafael has over 20 years of professional experience providing comprehensive advice in administrative law, with a focus on urban planning and environmental matters, public procurement, public-private partnership projects, and various administrative and contentious-administrative proceedings, both in the public and private sectors.
Joining from Crowe Legal & Tax, the new partner has developed his career at firms such as Garrigues and PwC Tax & Legal, where he served as Partner in charge of the Administrative and Urban Planning Department in the Barcelona office and leader of the national urban planning practice. He has also been repeatedly recognized by the international directory Chambers & Partners in the ‘Planning’ category (Band 4).
Rafael holds a Law degree and a PhD in Law from the University of Barcelona, as well as a Diploma in Urban Planning and a Master in Territorial and Urban Studies from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia and Pompeu Fabra University. He has also been an Associate Professor of Administrative Law at the University of Barcelona for several years and regularly delivers lectures in undergraduate, postgraduate, and specialized programs at renowned institutions.
In the words of Manuel Broseta, Chairman of Broseta, “Rafael’s arrival strengthens our firm growth strategy in Barcelona, at a time when the current real estate and urban planning market requires a specialist profile like his.”
According to Rosa Vidal, Managing Partner of Broseta, “Rafael’s extensive experience—mainly in the private sector, both in law firms and in-house, complemented by his early work in the public sector, along with his expertise in regulatory and administrative matters—will enable us to continue generating high added value for clients in our advisory services.”
