Joaquín Giráldez, lawyer at BROSETA, Head of the Leisure and Hotels Department, analyses for the economic newspaper Expansión a recent ruling by the Court of Justice of the European Union that hotels may not have to pay intellectual property rights to the managing entities for the contents of television or radio broadcasts in the rooms of the establishments, as has been done to date, thus opening the door to possible claims in the sector for the return of the amounts paid during the past few years.
